What do to with remaining vacation days and an injured dog? Roadtripping Sweden! Culinary quite an improvement compared to freeze-dried meals.
Östersund, parts of the so-called Villmarksveien, and partly in the middle of nowhere. Plenty of rivers and lakes but poor Puck was not allowed to swim. Also plenty of knots, moskitos and horseflies, repellents are a must.

The odds were against us. Our second Rondane multiday hiking attempt ended too early, too. On the first evening, Puck probably slipped on a sharp rock and suffered two deep cuts in one hindpaw. We concluded he should see the vet. We made our way back to the car the next morning, carrying him parts of the way. As a consolidation, we saw a large herd of wild reindeer.

We had plans to hike in Rondane for about a week but the odds were against us. After the first night in the tent, our almost new Jetboil stove did not light up - clogged jet. We had to return to the car and get it cleaned in Oppdal. Never again without a backup stove! We spent two rainy days relaxing and reading before we started a second attempt.
